The Driving Range especially built in at IDTR Pune consists of scientifically designed, constructed and maintained Vehicle Tracks as illustrated below. This driving range is used for multiple purpose like imparting Driving Training for all classes of vehicles viz. LMV, HMV (truck, bus), Long trailer etc. Also the tracks are used by RTO officials to assess driving competency before granting PDL to the aspiring candidates. Various manoeuvres such as moving, stopping, gear shifting, steering to left/ right, passing, overtaking, negotiating curve, sharp turns, roundabout, reversing straight, reversing left, reversing right, reverse S, speed management from minimum to maximum, following distance, stopping distance, brake failure management, parking techniques, sloped road with reduced sight distance, U turn etc. are practiced and expertise developed under dedicated guidance of expert Driver Instructors of the institute.
