Institute of Driving Training and Research, Pune is a joint venture between Central Institute of Road Transport & Tata Motors. It is established by Ministry of Road Transport and Highways under the 11th five year plan. This institute was inaugurated by Shri Nitin Jairam Gadkari, Honourable Minister of Road Transport & Highways, Government of India on 1st Nov 2014. The IDTR has established a World Class Test Track facility with the Innovative Driving Testing System in a spacious campus of 15 acres in CIRT.

INSTITUTE OF DRIVING TRAINING & RESEARCH

The IDTR has been established by the Ministry of Road Transport & Highway under 11th Five Year Plan as a Road Safety Initiative. The institute is being managed jointly by Central Institute of Road Transport and Tata Motors Limited. IDTR promotes road safety with focus on training of drivers. Driver training develops right attitude towards healthy driving habits which will bring down the accident rate in the country. Training will be conducted by well experienced driver instructors to impart practical, systematic and scientific driver training.
